How to apply

Doctorates in the research training group "Neural circuit analysis on the cellular and subcellualr level"

With RTG summer schools, that took place in  June 2014 and 2015 PDF Timetable, we aimed at highly qualified MSc candidates worldwide. Our concept is to offer an attractive course covering the research topics of the RTG and thereby introducing the RTG PIs, their research and collaborative projects. During this hands-on course that includes lectures, seminars and experimental stations the pre-selected maximum of 18 participating candidates can find out whether this RTG would be the suitable doctoral program for them. Vice versa the PIs of the RTG can assess the candidates’ skills during the summer school. At the end of the summer school the PI assembly will make the decision, which students to offer the five fellowships. Participants will be reimbursed for travel costs and accommodation is paid for by the RTG.

Applicants should hold a Master’s or other degree comparable to a German University Diploma or Master in Biology or Biochemistry. The program language is English; strong skills in written and spoken English are thus required for acceptance. Taking a formal, standardized test (e.g., the TOEFL) is not mandatory, but language proficiency will be assessed during the evaluation procedure.
CV, copies of transcripts and motivation letters belong to our standard application documents.
